We are delighted to congratulate Emeritus Professor Michael Roberts AO for his Order of Australia Award announced on the King’s Birthday, 8 June 2026.
Mike has been one of the driving forces behind CRE REDUCE and CRE RESPOND, and is recognised internationally as a leading figure in pharmacokinetics. His leadership and scientific insight shaped landmark studies including the SMARRT Study and PACE Study, and as a senior NHMRC Fellow he played a pivotal role in securing major NHMRC Project Grant funding.
Over a 30‑year span of NHMRC Fellowship, he helped design the foundational PK studies that underpinned the BLING program. His mentorship has supported the academic advancement of Jeff Lipman, Xin Liu, Jenny Ordonez, Natasha Roberts, Jason Roberts and many others. Remarkably, he has co‑authored around 80 publications with our team alone.
If you were to ask him about his greatest strength, his modesty would prevent him answering, but his energy and intellect allows him to creatively and effectively solve so many scientific problems making him a value mentor for many.
Receiving an AO in a major achievement in Australia and indicates an enduring fundamental contribution to the betterment of the Australian community - Mike has certainly achieved that and we proudly congratulate him on this well‑deserved recognition.
