Antimicrobial Optimisation Workshop February 21 2018

Wed 21 Feb 2018 11:00amThu 22 Feb 2018 12:00pm

CRE REDUCE are pleased to be hosting a one day Antimicrobial Optimisation Workshop in February 2018 immediately preceding the 2018 Australian Society for Antimicrobials (ASA) Annual Scientific Meeting (http://www.antimicrobials2018.com/).

The workshop will take place in Brisbane on Wednesday 21st of February 2018 and is broadly aimed at any health practitioner involved in the prescription, administration or stewardship of antimicrobials.

We are honored to be hosting an excellent faculty including international experts Professor Mark Wilcox (UK), Dr Natalie Schellack (South Africa) as well as Professor David Paterson, Professor Jeffrey Lipman and Dr Kathryn Daveson.

The Workshop will provide high-level, engaging and educational presentations on a range of topics including:

  • Emerging resistance in Asia-Pacific
  • New and old drugs for problematic pathogens
  • Developing guidelines in the era of resistance and emerging new drugs
  • Antibiotic optimisation for multidrug resistance pathogens
  • Optimising antimicrobial stewardship in different settings

The workshop will also feature small group tutorial style sessions with experienced antimicrobial stewardship clinicians helping attendees to critically analyse the effectiveness of their own antimicrobial stewardship program and provide advice on how to prevent antimicrobial stewardship fatigue.

Overall this is an exceptionally strong program that will be of interest and relevance to medical practitioners, pharmacists and nursing staff.
