Symposium Programme
On Thursday September 20, 2018 CRE REDUCE delivered a one-day Symposium on Innovation in Microsampling for Drug Dosing.This event followed a similar style symposium delivered successfully last year.
An inspiring faculty that included international guests:
- Professor Christophe Stove, University of Ghent, Belgium
- Dr Neil Spooner, University of Hertfordshire, Director and Founder at Spooner Bioanalytical Solutions
- Dr. Marieke Sturkenboom, University of Groningen, the Netherlands
and our own expert clinicians and researchers, including;
- Prof Jeffrey Lipman
- Dr Suzanne Parker
- Dr Andrew Burke
The Symposium covered a range of topics, focusing on: innovation in patient-centric sampling, applications of microsampling for drug dosing (both in the clinical and research environment), and novel bioanalytical methods. The Symposium explored the application of these alternative sampling strategies as applied to the hospital, outpatient and community environments.
It was our pleasure to strengthen collaboration with A/Prof Laurens Manning from University of Western Australia and Dr Brioni Moore from Curtin University and also initiate some new collaborative work with Prof Michael Breadmore from the University of Tasmania and A/Prof Catherine Sherwin from University of Utah, USA.
The Symposium was supported by our industry partners Astellas, MSD, Shimadzu and Pfizer.
Its success would not have been possible without the generous support of UQ's Faculty of Medicine and the staff at UQ Centre for Clinical Research.
