Harnessing the power of microbial genomics for infection control and outbreak response

Come along to this Microbial and Infection Control Genomics Workshop to discover the potential of microbial genomics and how to apply it to hospital outbreaks and infection control management - from bench to bedside and beyond.

The workshop will include practical sessions for:

  1. Routine surveillance
  2. Unexpected, odd and explosive outbreaks
  3. Evaluating infection control policy change

This workshop is particularly tailored for:

  • Infection Control Practitioner
  • Microbiologists or Advanced Trainees
  • Public Health Physicians or Advanced Trainees
  • Infection Control Nurses
  • Infectious Diseases Pharmacists
  • Sexual Health Physicians
  • General Physicians
  • Laboratory Scientists

About National AMR Forum

CRE REDUCE and the University of Queensland have collaborated with national institutions and international partners on the delivery of the 3rd National Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Forum, held in Brisbane on November 8 2019 at the RBWH Education & Conference Centre at Herston

View the 2019 National AMR Forum Program.

In addition to the CRE REDUCE, the key partners included the Queensland Statewide AMS Program, UQ Primary Care Clinical Unit, UQ School of Veterinary Science,  UQ School of Dentistry,  UQ Institute of Molecular Bioscience and the National Centre for Antimicrobial Stewardship.

We brought together physicians, nurses, pharmacists, veterinarians, dentists, policy makers, and others, under a multidisciplinary umbrella of effective action against AMR in human and animal medicine.

Please listen a series of podcasts recorded at the Forum featuring Forum expert speakers and guests.
