About OPAT/HITH Antimicrobial Seminar

Thank you to all who attended our OPAT/HITH seminar last Wednesday, February 20, at Garvan Institute of Medical Research in Sydney.

There were 105 attendees from a variety of disciplines, including nursing, pharmacy, medicine, microbiology, pharmaceutical industry, publishing as well as policy makers representing NSW State Government.

We are very grateful to the excellent team from Merck Sharp & Dohme (Australia) for their committment to supporting educational activities that promote responsible use of antimicrobials and thereby slow the development of resistance and preserve current therapeutic options.

Please access the videos of the seminar presentations below.

Further to our contributions so far in ensuring optimised antimicrobial use, the CRE REDUCE are delivering an important and timely Outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy (OPAT)/Hospital in the Home (HITH) Seminar to be hosted in Sydney, Wednesday February 20 2019.

The seminar is organised to precede the Australia Society for Antimicrobials 20th Annual Scientific Meeting in Sydney, held on the 21st - 23rd Feb

Our practical seminar will aim to provide the latest guidance on all aspects relevant to providing an optimal OPAT/HITH service. We aim to do this in the context of the recent guidelines from the British Society of Antimicrobial Therapy which highlighted  the lack of stability data supporting current practices.
