Develop informed consumer groups whose members participate as partners in CRE research projects and processes
An often silent partner in studies conducted in this CRE are the consumers and we recognise that they are a valuable advocate for research, enabling system change and influencing health policy.
Knowledgeable and motivated consumers understand the impact of research on patients and their families and how best to undertake research in challenging patient groups. The significant clinical and research experience of the team members in the REDUCE CRE has highlighted the valuable role that consumer engagement can play in better translating the results of this CRE.
