PK/PD Modelling Workshop Nîmes, France

26 July 2019

July 3-4 2019 was the third Population PK/PD modelling and Dose Optimisation Workshop convened by CRE REDUCE, and the first to be held outside of Australia, in Nîmes, France.

The meeting was supported by CHU Nîmes, Universite de Montpellier, University of Limoges and Claude Bernard University, Lyon.

Population PK/PD modelling and Dose optimisation workshop, Nîmes

This workshop aimed to provide education to clinicians and scientists interested in robust analysis of pharmacokinetic data or in use of dosing software to improve antibiotic therapy in patients. There were participants from 8 countries. Once again, CRE REDUCE was fortunate to have Professor Michael Neely from University of Southern California leading the program. Prof Neely is an expert infectious diseases physician and developer of the modelling software, Pmetrics®, as well as the dosing software, Bestdose®, and we are grateful for his ongoing support of the capacity building of more experts in this important area.

Furthermore, the workshop aims to create research networks for emerging and established researchers in PK/PD to enable the undertaking of stronger and larger research studies or analyses with larger datasets to provide more meaningful and clinically usable guidance.

CRE REDUCE is very grateful to all speakers and tutors on the day, as well as Ms Natacha Simon, Ms Audrey Ambert, Prof Claire Roger and Prof Jean-Yves Lefrant for their excellent coordination of the event which was supported from 16,670km away in Brisbane, by the CRE REDUCE staff.

The workshop program can be found here.
